Attendance: Buddy Watts, Jeff Harden, William Kelly, and Jack Horn. Geri Riegel, excused absence, Dave Vickery and Jack Elder, absent.
Call to Order: The regularly scheduled meeting of September 12, 2017, was cancelled as a result of Hurricane Irma. The meeting was rescheduled for September 19th. The meeting was delayed until 5:35pm at which time it was call to order by Buddy Watts, President. The delay was a result of absent Board Members due to the rescheduled meeting and the information not reaching every Board Member. In addition, Buddy attended the BOC meeting for OSFR issues that started at 5:00 pm.
Buddy called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm. Buddy advised the Board that the OSFR Budget was approved by the BOC's with no changes. Ernie Filice, BOC, requested a meeting with Buddy, Geri, and Jeff to discuss the Contract with the County and the Fire Dept, the build out of Station 92, and the Chief taking a vehicle home. The Meeting is scheduled for September 28th at 2:00 pm. Buddy advised that tree clearing has started at Station.
August, 2017 Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the August 8th meeting were summarized by Jeff Harden at the meeting. Jack Horn motioned to approve the minutes and was seconded by William Kelly. Buddy Watts, William Kelly, Jeff Harden, and Jack Horn voted to approve. None opposed. The minutes were approved as written.
Treasurers Report: Jack Horn covered the budget report. There were no significant expenses for the month of August.
Chief’s Report: Chief Harrison covered the report on "Fire Calls" for the month of August 2017 responded to by the Fire Department. The Chief talked about the need for the Fire Department to have a generator to have full power in a power outage. Eventually Station 92 will also have to have a generator. The Board agreed and advised the Chief to have quotes for the next meeting for the Board to review. This issue will be an agenda item for the October meeting. The Chief advised that payroll for the month is expected to be higher as a result of the additional man hours required to staff the Fire Station as a result of Hurricane Irma. He also advised that the water softener for the building had been upgraded.
Discussion and consideration of the status and update of Station 92 Build-out : Ground clearing for the start of Station 92 has begun.
October Election Cycle Announcements: Jeff advised that the 1st Tuesday in October, (October 3rd - 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm) and the first Thursday in October (October 5th - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) will be the dates and time of the annual election. Buddy, Jack Horn, and Jack Elder will man the voting station on these dates.
Public Comments: No one signed in to address the Board.
Meeting Adjourned: Having no further issues before the Board, the meeting was adjourned by Buddy Watts, President, at 6:30 pm.
