Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

October 9, 2018

Attendance:   Jeff Harden, Dave Vickery, Jack Horn, Jack Elder, Bill Kelly, Rick Sramek, Joann McDade and Garry Evans. 

Call to Order:  Jeff Harden, President, called the meeting to order at 5:02pm.  Jeff Harden announced the results of the election.  Jack Horn and Garry Evans were reelected to the board and Rick Sramek was newly elected.  Jeff Harden moved to reelect Jack Horn as Treasurer.  Dave Vickery seconded.  The motion was approved unanimously. 

September 11, 2018 Meeting Minutes:    The minutes of the September 11 meeting were submitted to board members electronically for review.  Jeff Harden asked for any additions or corrections.  Dave Vickery motioned to approve the minutes as submitted and was seconded by Jack Horn.  Dave Vickery, Jack Horn, Bill Kelly, Jeff Harden, Joann McDade and Garry Evans voted to approve. None opposed. The minutes were approved as written.

Treasurers Report:  Jack Horn provided the current and YTD financial report and highlighted key expenditures.  A discussion concerning the millage rate increase occurred.  A discussion on using remaining Non-County funds for mortgage pay down occurred.  It was decided to not apply these funds to the mortgage pay down. 

Chief’s Report:  Chief Harrison stated that calls were 45 for September.  He stated that many of the calls were mutual aid and alarm and fire calls were up.   The Chief stated that officer positions were filled and Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines were added to the firefighter handbook.  He stated that the State Review was conducted in early October and no violations were noted.  The Chief stated that 12-14 firefighters are eligible for raises.  Maintenance for Station 91 was discussed and the chief stated that he had the Tint Shop come out to look at the garage doors for window tinting.  D & D Doors will continue maintenance for the doors.  Jeff Harden stated that the chief is seeking bids for paint, carpet and VCT for the station.  Chief Harrison stated that Excelsior had lost contract with Good Samaritan and would move out at the end of the month.  Gold Cross Ambulance has the new contract and will rent space starting in November at a rate of $1250/month which will be adjusted to $1800 in six months. 

Public Comment:  No one signed in to address the board. 

Meeting Adjourned:  Having no further issues before the Board, the meeting was adjourned by Jeff Harden, President, at 6:02 pm.
